Thank you for posting the quotes and the link. We need those reminders of wisdom to be able to cope with life in what Robert A. Heinlein called “The Crazy Years.” (Voter intimidation and suppression; increasing evangelical dominionism that led to a total theocracy in the US….and more) It’s frightening that he sketched out this fictional “Future History” in 1939…the year I was born.
As usual, I appreciate your input, sk8eycat. (Pardon me if I’m not always too fast on the draw, to respond.)
A couple of Heinlein quotes, I’m particularly attached to:
“In the absence of clearly-defined goals, we become strangely loyal to performing daily trivia until ultimately we become enslaved by it.”
—
“Never try to teach a pig to sing. It’s a waste of time and besides it annoys the pig.”
Oh, and
“There is no such thing as “Just a cat.”
An outstanding share! I have just forwarded this onto a friend who was conducting a little homework
on this. And he actually bought me breakfast simply because I stumbled upon it for
him… lol. So allow me to reword this….
Thanks for the meal!! But yeah, thanks for spending the time
to talk about this issue here on your website.
